VFA WELLNESS CENTER:
ASLI HATIPOĞLU
Aslı Hatipoğlu (TR/TH) is an interdisciplinary artist based in the Netherlands. Her social practice focuses on curating participatory dinners and installations that explore how culinary history and agricultural politics shape our relationship with food and other species.
VFA Wellness Center presents the results of her site-specific research around the history of radicchio di Treviso, prosecco, and the lost silk industry. The imaginary tourist destination invites the audience in
a lecture performance mixing historical and physical materials collected from the region.
The ‘lecture performance’ merges reality and fiction with a pinch of satire to shed light to political issues as well as imagining a speculative future possibility for art spaces like Villa Filanda Antonini.
The artist transitions from the role of an artist to a tour guide, using Villa Filanda Antonini as a possible tourist attraction using the medium of art as wellness center to share her imaginative possibilities driving inspiration from collected information during her residency program.
SILK BEAUTY SALON BY ASLI HATIPOĞLU
Silk Beauty Salon as part of the VFA Wellness Center collaborates with CREA Agricoltura Ambiente (Silk research centre in Padova) to welcome guests to relax and rejuvenate in a private room. A whole new industry emerges from anti-aging products to insect cookies to rejuvenate the body while relaxing in front of a painting made by yeast and bacteria collaborators. The duration is 15 minutes. To participate, it is essential to make a reservation by emailing hello@vfa.art.

VESTALI LIQUIDE:
NORA MANDRAY
Nora Mandray (she/they) is a French artist-filmmaker, based in Berlin. Spanning a conversation on trauma and resilience, Nora’s work aims to explore truth-telling as a tool of healing in the age of mass extinction. They’re invested in building empathy with the more-than-human world, with a particular focus on water. During their residency at Villa Filanda Antonini, Mandray created the ‘Vestali Liquide.’ ‘Vestali Liquide’ (Liquid Vestals) is an intergenerational film project that engages grandmothers and grandchildren in a deep reflection on the meaning of water in their lives. Through this multidisciplinary work, Nora celebrates the bond between generations while engaging with our ancestral memory – our spiritual connection to liquid life.

BAUXITY:
ANNA ZANICHELLI
Anna Zanichelli (IT) is a visual artist based in Brussels. She experiments with matter, light and time. Central to her practice is the act of gleaning, a process akin to archaeological excavation of the contemporary world. She salvages abandoned materials and assembled it into new configurations. This “Frankensteinian” practice breathes new life into discarded fragments, inviting them to speak of their former existence while embracing their potential for rebirth.
During her residency at Villa Filanda Antonini Zanichelli created the work ‘Bauxity.’
‘Bauxitiy’ is a textile installation that brings together, in an almost aleatory composition, plastics and aluminium collected by the artist during her walks. These materials often include food packaging, floating in currents shaped by Earth’s gravity. These fragments, removed from the “cosmic dance of waste,” are meticulously hand-sewn, resulting in an embroidery that reflects the habits and customs of contemporary humanity. The title ‘Bauxity’ refers to the rock from which aluminum is extracted, presented here in its most brilliant transformations.
