Visual Artist
Swinda Oelke (Düsseldorf, 1995) is a visual artist who studied in Copenhagen and Düsseldorf and graduated from Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with honorable mention in 2022.
By addressing our close environment, Oelke develops works that look beneath the surface of the infrastructures and systems that surround us. Her works are often site-specific and intertwine sculpture, video, and spatiality. Oelke is a fellow of the German academic scholarship foundation, the Konrad-Krieger-Foundation, and the Staff-Foundation. She is going to be the scholar of Metro-Foundation in 2024. Recent exhibitions include: Marburger Kunstverein, KIT-Kunst im Tunnel Düsseldorf, LVR-Niederrheinmuseum Wesel, and the Kunstmuseum Solingen.
